Welcome to The Key West Post! This website was launched in the Fall of 2025. Since then, thousands of people have visited this website. It proves that readers want news from a uniquely unbiased source.  Our mission is to share the truth about issue impacting Key West. Our perspective is unique, and we answer only to our readers who seek the truth.


We believe knowledge is power, so our goal is to inform others about important issues impacting Key West. We want residents, civic leaders, and voters to make informed decisions to protect our island. As Key West continues to grow and change, we are the ones who define its future. Our island has a rich history and culture that belongs to all of us. We have a responsibility to help shape the identity of Key West, just like our ancestors did. Hopefully, The Key West Post helps readers to connect and engage in our community.


Unlike corporate-owned media and so called local bloggers, this website is the only independent news source here that is owned and managed by a Key West native. From this perspective, we try to amplify voices and stories outside the echo chamber of the biased local news. We want all members of our community to have a voice.


Key West has always welcomed everyone with open arms. We embrace diverse viewpoints. We reject division and intolerance from any side of the political aisle. Our voice is independent. Our facts are solid. Our commitment to this community is unwavering.

Liana Gonzalez-Blanco

Liana is a Key West native who loves writing about her island home. She taught English to students in grades 6–12 for nearly 35 years in Key West schools, sharing her love of literature and language with generations of local students. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. Liana is the owner of Conch Media Group, LLC, and the creator and manager of The Key West Post. Her goal is to keep readers informed about the issues that matter most in Key West. As a lifelong local, she offers a perspective often missing from corporate media and from journalists and bloggers who are new to the island.  When Liana isn't writing and managing this website, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. On most days, you’ll find her walking, biking, or running outdoors, soaking up the natural beauty, friendly people, and diverse cultures that make Key West so special.
