My name is Liana Gonzalez-Blanco, and I’m a proud Key West Conch. I live on the island full-time with my family and friends. For 33 years, I taught English in Key West schools, sharing my love of literature and language with generations of students. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Florida and my Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. These experiences shaped both my teaching career and my commitment to lifelong learning. My love of reading and writing naturally connects to my website, where I strive to make complex Key West issues clear and accessible for everyone.
I am the owner of Conch Media Group, LLC, and I created and manage The Key West Post website. My mission is to report on local news from a perspective that is truly unique—as the only news source on the island owned and managed by a Key West native. I aim to deliver fair, balanced, and professional information that tells the truth about my beautiful island home. I also seek to highlight voices often overlooked by corporate media in Key West and by writers who claim to be locals but are not.
